The first step to becoming a real estate agent in Montana is to take a state-certified real estate course. These courses can be held in person, online, or as a hybrid option.

These courses will give you the basic knowledge to pass the state test and work as a real estate agent. 

Once you have successfully passed your course work. You will need to schedule and pass the state and federal salesperson test. This test can be taken at certain testing facilities in Billings, Helena, and Missoula.
